Animans Salix - Face to Face with a Sallow Tree

In this work I tried to make the face of a tree visible. So this is not just painted somehow, but most of the parts are really naturally grown - except of the mirroring effect and some slide adjustments to get the face more obvious, and the additional parts like the eye reflection and the horns / teeth of course.

I took a series of photos from a sallow tree bark  last summer that inspired me somehow and stitched them together to a very high-res panorama. Than I did the postwork: Relighting in a 3d application and adding some features (horn, eye, smoke) to transform this into a mystic face.
This image benefits of its large resolution and details in the fractal bark structure. The final image size is 17.000 x 11.500 pixel
